What happens when I arrive?
Upon arriving at Urgent Care of Fremont, LLC, you will sign in with the receptionist so they may obtain the information necessary to treat you. They will ask you to fill out a registration sheet and will scan your medical insurance card. At this point, if you are insured with an insurance that we are contracted with, you will be asked for your co-pay. If you are insured with an insurance with whom we are not contracted or if do not carry insurance coverage, you will be offered a 20% discount if you pay cash for your visit upon discharge.
Once this is completed, your chart is given to a nurse. As soon as an examination room is available, you will be called by the nurse, who will take your vital signs and a brief medical history. The medical practitioner will then see you as soon as possible.
How long will it take?
Generally our wait times are no longer than 15 minutes. Patients are triaged shortly after arrival in the clinic. Urgent care patients are seen in order of arrival. Occasionally a particularly sick patient may arrive after you and be seen before you, but generally this group of patients is referred on to the emergency department.
We see patients on a walk-in basis without requiring an appointment. This makes prediction of patient flow and wait times uncertain; however, patients are generally seen with a minimal wait time. We have four examination rooms and our medical practitioners are experienced at working in urgent care settings. We recognize that your time is valuable and we work as hard and as fast as we can to give you high quality medical care in a timely manner.
Medical treatments such as intravenous fluids, medications, and breathing treatments may be administered in the urgent care clinic. These treatments can extend the length of your visit.
If you need to be admitted to the hospital, our staff will assist in all the arrangements.
What happens next?
You may be treated and discharged shortly after being examined. You will need to check out with the receptionist before leaving the clinic.
If you require prescription medication, you will be provided with a written script, or we are happy to call the order to a pharmacy of your choice.
If your problem is more complicated, you may be asked to wait for results from laboratory tests. X-rays are reviewed right away by your medical practitioner, and again by a radiologist within 2 days, when any new findings would be reported to you.
A summary of your evaluation, diagnosis and treatment is faxed to your primary care physician’s office immediately after your visit. If your condition requires consultation with your primary care physician, we will contact them during your visit. |
